Legal and data protection
How we handle your data, the terms of using the platform and your rights under UK GDPR. Last updated 1 September 2026.
Privacy policy
Adaptability Plus Ltd ("we", "us") is the data controller for personal data processed on this platform. This policy explains what we collect, why, how long we keep it and who we share it with.
What we collect
- Account data: name, email address, password (stored as a salted hash), organisation where relevant.
- Assessment data: your answers to questionnaires, calculated scores, development levels, reports and exercise activity.
- Purchase data: order history, VAT details and receipts. Card details are handled by our payment processor and never stored by us.
- Technical data: device, browser and usage information needed to run and secure the service.
Why we process it
- To deliver assessments, reports and exercises you have purchased or been licensed to use (performance of a contract).
- To keep the platform secure and improve it (legitimate interests).
- To comply with tax and accounting obligations (legal obligation).
- To send product news, only if you opt in (consent, withdrawable at any time).
Assessment data is special
Questionnaire answers and reports are personal and can be sensitive. They are visible only to you. Organisation and university administrators see completion status and aggregate, anonymised results for groups of five or more people. They never see an individual report unless you choose to share it with them from your account.
Retention
We keep account and assessment data for as long as your account is active and for 12 months after closure, so that you can return to your results. Purchase records are kept for 7 years as required by UK tax law. You can delete your account and assessment data at any time from the Account page.
Where data is stored
Data is stored in the United Kingdom and the European Union with providers that hold ISO 27001 certification. Where data leaves the UK, we rely on the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or adequacy regulations.
Who we share it with
Our payment processor (Stripe) for payments, our cloud hosting provider for storage, and our email provider for receipts and account messages. Each acts under a written data processing agreement. We do not sell personal data.
Terms and conditions
1. The service
Adaptability Plus provides online psychometric assessments, automated reports and development exercises. The reports are development tools. They are not clinical diagnoses and should not be used as the sole basis for employment decisions.
2. Accounts
You must be at least 16 to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential. Accounts are personal and may not be shared.
3. Purchases and licences
A purchase gives one named person access to one assessment, its report and the associated exercises, including unlimited retakes. Organisation and university licences grant a number of seats for a fixed term; seats may be reassigned once per term. Prices are shown in pounds sterling and include VAT where applicable.
4. Refunds
Because reports are delivered immediately, the statutory cooling-off period ends when you begin an assessment. If you have not started an assessment you may request a full refund within 14 days of purchase.
5. Intellectual property
Questionnaires, scoring rules, reports and exercises are the intellectual property of Adaptability Plus Ltd. You may download and print your own reports and exercises for personal use. Reproducing questionnaires or exercises for others is not permitted without a licence.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to attempt to reverse-engineer scoring, to complete assessments on behalf of another person, or to use the platform in a way that harms other users or the service.
7. Liability
We provide the service with reasonable care and skill. We are not liable for decisions made on the basis of a report. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
